Deshu Qiu

Qiu Deshu was born in Shanghai in 1948. In 1979 he founded Caocao Painting Society with friends, promoting “the uniqueness of spirit,style and technique”.  Qiu totally surpassed using writing brush on the paper,traditional water ink technique and pattern, instead,by combining Xuan Paper and Canvas, Water Ink and acrylics, drawing and carving in an ingenious way, he not only managed to show the era of ‘fission’ with his own unique modern art language, but also create the beauty of ‘fission’ in a way that never exists before. From content to form, from language to pattern, his ‘fission’ always has unlimited variation. His art not only has distinguishing feature but also has strong visual impact. He is a pioneer keeps exploring new area  within Chinese water ink fission art.

Since early 1980s his works have been shown through various one-man or group exhibitions in different countries or regions like US、Germany、Australia、Ireland、Japan、Austria、Switzerland、Singapore、Korea、Hong Kong and Taiwan, also in Chinese cities like Shanghai、Beijing、Guangzhou、Wuhan、Nanjing、Chengdu、Shenzhen、Zhuhai etc.
