Susan Yeung is a young artist, painter and mediaveteran. Yeung learned to paint at an early age,and through many years of researching andstudying Chinese art, her painting technique hascontinued to develop progressively. Susan studied arts & film in New York and later obtained an EMBA at Hong Kong City University.
Yeung’s work is of a contemporary character and highly influenced by impressionist paintings.
Her work transforms the painting to a spiritual art through vibrant colors, which is a very crucial element in visual experience. This transformation allows one to sense the tranquility of an object and manifest his emotion towards it. It also fulfills the self-exploring process that the artist wants the audience to go through.
Striving to express emotional reaction by the use of pigment and color, Yeung takes impressionism to a more contemporary and abstract level. Oil pigment has been her favorite media and is well witnessed in her latest series of abstract landscapes. The value of art that is broadly expressed in her work always supports and enriches the various themes in her paintings. From borderless landscape to her emotional manifestation, her unique style is richly illustrated. Moreover, the everlasting quality and life in her work always inspire mystery and multi-cultural exchange.
Yeung is the founder and curator of this exhibition. She has been actively involved in social and charitible projects over the years and has demonstrated her strong sense of social responsibility as a Hong Kong artist.
